My First Grandchild's Baby Shower!

Saturday was the baby shower for my first grandchild. We didn't know if it was going to still go on. As of Thursday when my son called me I found out my granddaughter is due any day now.

My youngest daughter, my ex's youngest daughter, my boyfriend and I left Friday after I got off of work to go up north for the baby shower. As we were going around Milwaukee we got stuck in an hour of traffic. Come to find out that there was a seven car accident by the zoo. A three hour trip took us about four to four in half hours. I had a seven year old and a eighteen year old in the back seat. But we finally made it.

Then Saturday was the baby shower and I was able to see some of my family. I was able to see my older daughter, my mom, my younger sister, my boyfriends mom, my oldest niece and her daughter and a friend of the family that is like a sister to me and her daughter. It was really nice. This was the first time my boyfriends mom got to meet my family and it is the first time she met my kids.

My son's girlfriend was doing really good. You could see in her face that she was very uncomfortable. That is because the baby has dropped and she is crowning already. She made it through the baby shower and everything was really nice. There was three games that we played and the food was really good that she had. As you can tell by the picture she really got a lot of gifts. There was a lot of Winnie the Pooh things because that is what the baby's room is going to be. My mom had gotten a really pretty Winnie the Pooh lamp for the room.

Everyone had a really good time. When it was over my mom, my boyfriends mom and I went outside to wait for my boyfriend to come there and we really had a good time just talking. The seven year old told me when my boyfriend got there to have him go inside and get her. So I told him what she said to me.

My youngest daughter stayed up north because she wants to be there when the baby is born. But after the baby shower my boyfriend, my ex's youngest daughter and I came home. It took about and hour just to say good bye to everyone.

  3. We don't have this culture here but I heard a lot about it..how nice to have relatives and loved ones gathering around you and giving attention to the bump you're carrying! Winnie the Pooh is my favourite charachter too (I went to the extent of looking up about the original creator's history once!); I'm sure the baby room looks lovely. I can imagine how exciting the whole event is..and you're going to be a grandma so soon! Thanks for this post..it warmed my heart!

  4. HLiza- My youngest daughter still loves Winnie the Pooh. I just bought her the 80th Anniversary edition Winnie the Pooh. That is one thing I don't think she will ever grow out of. My son likes the Tasmanian Devil, my older daughter likes the Tweety bird.

I don't know what the baby's room looks like right now. But I am sure it is going to look great. I just can't wait until my Granddaughter is her. She is due any day now.

Thank you so much for your comment it means so much to me.
