American Idol Top 5!

Yes it was another week of American Idol and a very big upset to me. The person that went home should have never went again. This is really getting bad for me.

Wednesday Night:
Theme of the week was Queen. This is a really great band, but really hard to sing there songs.

Mentors this week was from the band Queen it was Brian May the guitar player and Roger Taylor the drummer. They sat down and talked with all the contestants together. I thought that was great talking to all of them together.

Opening the show was all the contestants with Brian and Paul. They sang Fat-Bottom Girl, Another One Bites the Dust and We Will Rock You. This was excellent to watch and listen to. I really enjoyed it.

The contestants sang a song from Queen and they got to choose their second song.

So here is what they sang from Queen:

Phil- He sang "Fat-Bottom Girl". I thought it was awesome and he keeps getting better with what ever he sings.

Skylar- She sang "The Show Must Go On". This was another awesome one and she also keeps getting better with what she sings.

Elise-  She sang "I Want It All". I thought this was awesome just like when she sang Zeppelin.

Joshua- He sang "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". It was alright not his best performance. To me that is not his kind of a song.

Jessica- She sang "Bohemian Rhapsody". This was not a song for her to do. She is better with a different kind of song. It just was not her up there.

Hollie- She sang "Save Me". She was alright not her best either.

Contestants song choice:

Jessica- She sang "Dance with my Father"  by Luther Vandross. It was alright not her best at all.

Skylar- She sang "Tattoos on this Town" by Jason Aldean. This was awesome and she is great with what ever song you give her.

Joshua- He sang "I'm Ready for Love" by Drake. It was alright not his best.

Elise- She sang "Bold as Love" by Jimi Hendrix. She was awesome with this song and Wallace played the guitar on stag with her.

Phil- He sang "The Stone" by Dave Mathews. This was awesome and like I said earlier give him a song and he will sing it his way and that is what he did.

Hollie- She sang "It's a Climb" by Miley Cyrus. This was one of her better performances.

The judges picked Skylar for best of both performances.

Thursday Night:

Queen Extravaganza sang "Somebody to Love". It was awesome then Brian and Roger came out towards the end of the song. That made it even better.

Katy Perry sang "Part of Me". I never listen to her music so I really can't say anything.

Stephano from season 10 sang "I'm on a Roll". It was alright.

Casey was there from season 10 talking about last season's tour.

Results:
Jessica- Safe
Elise- Bottom Three
Phil- Safe
Skylar- Bottom Three
Joshua- Safe
Hollie- Bottom Three

Bottom Three:
Skylar- Safe
Hollie- Safe
Elise- Went home but before she left she sang "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zeppelin.

July 6th is the start of season 11 tour. It kicks off in Detroit, Michigan.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Yes today is my Dad's Birthday.  He passed away about 16 yrs ago but I still say Happy Birthday to him. He would have been 79 years old today. He worked at the Chicago Tribune and he was a machinist and he did retire from there.

Yes my dad was very strict with having three girls. If we did anything wrong he would either spank us or ground us. I remember when I was 18yrs old and my dad grounded me from seeing my boyfriend. The thing of it is all I did was prove my dad wrong and he grounded me.

My older sister said she hated my dad to his face. I never would say that to my dad. I have to much respect for my dad to ever say that to him. I learned the right things to do because of having an older sister. Yes I still got into enough trouble on my own. I also got blamed for a lot of things my younger sister did. But dad always figured out if it was me or not.

My dad like building things with wood and when ever he needed help he would have me help him. Even if I was out with my friends down the street he would yell down the street for me to come home and help him.

My parents have land up north and that was were my dad retired to and he passed away there. I remember that to this day. He loved it up there and he loved going to the lake with us kids. He would pick us up out of the water and throw us back in or we would ride on his back while he would swim. He did the same thing with my son.  Out of my three kids it hit my son the hardest when his grandpa passed away. My dad was not only like my best friend but my sons too. My son was grandpa's boy all the time.

To this day there are two days that are the hardest for me, that is today and Christmas. My dad loved Christmas because of all the lights on the houses. I guess that is why I love driving around looking at the decorated houses so much.

It is hard for me to talk about my dad because I start to cry. I miss my dad so much and I will always love him every day. I don't get to his grave because he is buried in Illinois with his mom and dad.

My dad really didn't like my ex-husband when I was married. But I know for a fact that he would love my boyfriend very much. My boyfriend and my dad are a lot alike in the joking around way especially with a waitress at a restaurant. That is how I know they would get along great.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD WE LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!

I Am Going To Have A Second Grandchild!

Yes this is a little late in posting. I found out the Saturday of Easter that my sons girlfriend is three months pregnant again.

When my son called to tell me I told him he better not be joking around with me. He said mom I am serious about this, he says I am not joking around with you. I said I am happy for both of you. Then I said Skylee will only be a year old when this baby is born. He said yes I know that mom. When his girlfriend was pregnant with Skylee they told  the Grandma's first and this time they told the Grandpa's first. We are very happy for my son.

When I told Drew this he said to me WHAT! With his eyes wide open. I told him yes and we sat and talked about this for awhile. Yes Grandpa Drew is going to have another Grandchild too.

It was like it really didn't hit me when my son told me about the baby at first. It took a couple of days to actually sink in my head. I don't know why it really didn't hit me at first. When he called me I had just gotten off of work and I was really tired. That may be the reason it really didn't hist me. But when it did I was like really happy.

I don't know how the other grandparents feel about the new baby. I hope they are not yelling at the kids about this. I know my sons girlfriend has to be really careful during her pregnancy because she was having problems when she was pregnant before. There is nothing we can do about this my son is so happy he is going to have another child.

In July I am going to have my granddaughter down here for a few days. I am watching her so my son can go to Rock U.S.A.. I can't wait to see her and spoil her while she is here.

American Idol Top 6!

Yes last night another contestant went home. It was a very upsetting night for me. The person that went home should have never went. I will explain later.

The theme was Now & Then.

No extra mentor this week.

Wednesday Night:
All the contestants had to sing two song this week. One was a current song and one was from back in the day.  Here is what they sang and how I think they did:

Current Songs:
Hollie- She sang " Rolling in the Deep" by Adele. She finally found herself and I did like her performance tonight.

Colton- He sang " Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga. He was awesome. I really like this one.

Elise- She sang " No One" by Alicia Keyes. This was great and I really thought she did great.

Phil- He sang " You Got it Bad" by Usher. This was awesome and he can always sing what ever you give hime to sing, he also sings it his own way.

Jessica- She sang " Falling" by Alicia Keyes. This was not her best song. She has had better performances in the past.

Joshua- He sang " I Believe" by Fantasia. This was a great performance by him tonight. But still not his best.

Skylar- She sang " Born this Way" by Lady Gaga. This was a awesome performance by her. Give her a song and she will sing the song and do it her own way.

Back in Time: This is suppose to be like Soul Train-
Hollie- She sang " Son of a Preacher Man" by Dusty Springfield. This was really good by her.

Colton- He sang " September" by Earth, Wind & Fire. This was a great performance but not his best.

Elise- She sang " Lets Get it On" by Marvin Gaye. This was alright not her best.

Phil- He sang " Wait Till the Midnight Hour" by Wilson Picket. This was awesome by him.

Jessica- She sang " Try a Little Tenderness" by Otis Redding. I really didn't like this song for her. This was not for her.

Joshua- He sang " Change is Going to Come" by Sam Cook. This was alright not his best song.

Skylar- She sang " Heard it Through the Grapevine" by Marvin Gaye. This was awesome and she did it her own way and I loved it.

Thursday Night:

There is no more save. It was used last week so the judges can't do anything.

Kris Allen sang " The Vision of Love". This was awesome by him. He is also the winner from Season 8.

LMAFO sang " Sorry For Party Rocking". I thought I was at a circus watching these guys. I honestly did not know what I was watching on the t.v.. I am sorry for saying this they are a sorry excuse for a rock band.

Over 53 million people voted Wednesday night.

The contestants sang " Dancing in the Street".

Here are the results:

Joshua- Safe
Hollie- Bottom Three
Colton- Bottom Three
Skylar- Safe
Phil- Safe
Elise- Bottom Three
Jessica- Safe

Bottom Three:
Hollie- Safe
Elise- Safe
Colton- Went home.

I am so sorry Colton should have never went home. The one that should have gone home is Hollie.

Please feel free to leave your comments!♥

R.I.P. Dick Clark!

Yes yesterday we have lost a very special icon Dick Clark. Born November 30, 1929 and he passed away April 18, 2012.  He was 82 years old when he passed away.

He is remembered best for American Bandstand. On this show he has helped so many singers get recognized. It help Tina Turner, Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder,   Jerry Lee Lewis, Beatles, Beach Boys and Chuck Berry.

Dick Clark is the person most responsible for the bonfire spread of Rock 'N' Roll across America. He said I play records the kids danced and America watched. That is the truth I remember watching his show when I was younger. I loved watching it and hearing the new people coming out with music.

In 2010 he was listed in the Guiness  Book of World Records for having the longest running t.v. show.

Here are some other t.v. shows he was the host of  T.V's Blooper & Practical Jokes, The Pyramid and Jeopardy. I remember these shows because my parents always watched them.

The one thing I always remembered was listening to him do the Top 40 countdown on Saturday mornings. I would never miss this because I liked to hear what singers and songs would be on the top of the charts.

In 1972 he started the New Year's Rock 'N' Eve Show. I love to watch this with him hosting it. He always had music on there and he would have a countdown for each time zone. There was only two times he was not on the show first was 2000 and then when he had his stroke in 2004. Then from 2005-2011 he had a co-host Ryan Seacrest from American Idol. His speech was improving through the years. I am sorry to say this but nobody can ever replace Dick Clark on the Rock 'N' Eve show. He is the only one in my book that can make this show what it has always been a very special day for everyone.

In 2004 he announced he had type 2 diabetes, then in late 2004 he has a stroke and in 2012 he had a medical procedure after that he had a heart attack and passed away.

I know he is going to be missed by millions of people. This man has touched my heart with everything he has done for the music industry. To me he is the music industry the way he has helped so many singers get there start. I will miss him greatly and my prayers are with his family.

WE MISS YOU DICK CLARK AND REST IN PEACE WE LOVE YOU!♥

Happy Birthday Austin!

Yes today my boyfriend's son turns 15 years old. He is the youngest out of both of our kids. We celebrated his birthday yesterday with him, I made him dinner and bought him this big chocolate chip cookie. He really don't like cake that is why I bought the cookie.

I just can't believe it when I first met him he was 13 years old. Now he is a freshman in high school. I love him  like my son and I do treat him the same way as my own kids. I can't believe how much he has grown. He is a very smart boy for his age and he has his dad's sense of humor.

We don't see him that often but when we do it means so much to his dad and I. He lives with his mom and is with his friends that is why we don't see him to often. We are just happy when we do get to see him.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUSTIN WE LOVE YOU!♥

My Revue on Lionel Richie Tuskegee Album!

Yes Lionel Richie had a concert on t.v. last night and I watched it. This concert was awesome. I enjoyed the whole show.

I just could not believe all the country music singers that he was singing with last night. Yes I like country music and rock.

This is a list of the singers and songs that they sang last night:

Jason Aldean- He sang " Say You Say Me". This was an awesome song he sang. He did an great job with the song.

Luke Bryan- He sang " Running with the Night". He sang this so good and I really liked it.

Sara Evans and Marc Anthony- They sang " Endless Love". The did an awesome job with this song. I really loved it.

Martina McBride- She sang " Still ". This was an awesome performance.

The Band Perry- They sang " Penny Lover". I don't know the band at all but they did do a good job with the song.

Lady Antebellum- They sang " Truly". This was a awesome performance for the song. I just sat there watching them in awww.

Here are the duets with Lionel Richie:

Kenny Chesney- He sang  " My Love". This was really funny with the two of them. Because Kenny would try to move close to Lionel when they sang the part My Love. Then Lionel would shake his head no. They did have an awesome performance together.

Tim McGraw- He sang " Sail On". This was an awesome performance with the two of them. They had a great time on the stage singing together.

Jennifer Nettles- She sang " Hello". They had a great performance together.

Kenny Rogers- He sang " Lady". He was suppose to sing by himself but he asked Lionel to come up on stage and sing with him. Lionel only had one word for this song and went to Kenny with it. They come up with the song together. This was a great performance with both of them singing the song.

Darius Rucker- He sang " Stuck on You". This was a great performance. I really enjoyed it.

Rascal Flatts- They sang " Dancing on the Ceiling". This was so awesome. I loved it.

Blake Shelton- He sang " You Are". They had an awesome time singing together. It was funny because they were goofing around on stage when You Are came up and pointing at each other. It was awesome to watch.

Nicole Richie she sat by her dad while he played a song he use to sing to her when she was little.

Big & Rich- They sang " Brick House". This was so good and I loved it when Lionel went up there to sing with them. It was the last song of the show.

I just really enjoyed the show so much and I seen the cd at Wal-Mart today and picked it up. I got the deluxe edition so I even have the dvd.

Yes I do like Lionel Richie's music. I grew up listening to it a lot. I did have all of his albums but then my ex sold them.

I would like to hear what you have to say about this so please feel free to leave your comments. Thank you very much!♥

American Idol Top 7!

Yes another week came and went. But this week something really crazy happened. I will let you know.

The finale show will be in about a month.

Tommy Holfinger stopped by to help the contestants this week.

The mentor was A Kon.

This is what they sang and what I thought about each one of them and also there was duets again. Here we go for Wednesday Night:

Skylar- She sang " Sidn't You Know" by Kelly Pickler. I really liked this song for her she was awesome. She knows how to make a song her own.

Colton- He sang " Love The Way You Lie" by Skylar Gray. He was so awesome. He can always remake a song for himself.

Jessica- She sang " Stuttering" by Jazmine Sullivan. She did a good job but not her best song so far.

Joshua- He sang " Runaway Baby" by Bruno  Mars. I really like this performance by him a great one.

Elise- She sang " You and I" by Lady Gaga. You could not tell this was a Lady Gaga song. She did a great job with this song I really liked it.

Phil- He sang " Give A Little More" by Maroon 5. I think he had a awesome performance. He is just up there being himself not trying to be someone he is not. That is what I really like about him. He can sing any song you give him.

Hollie- She sang " Perfect" by Pink. This was not a song for her. But it was alright. The dress has to go because she looked half human and half duck.

The Duets:

Elise and Phil- They sang " Somebody I Use To Know" by Gotye. This was a great job by the two of them.

Colton and Skylar- They sang " Don't You Want To Stay" by Jason Aldeen and Kelly Clarkson. This was an awesome performance them. They can sing anything together.

Joshua, Jessica and Hollie- The sang " What Doesn't Kill You" by Kelly Clarkson. They did a good job. Jessica tries to over power everyone else so she can be heard. I don't think that is good for anyone to do.

Here we go for Thursday Night:

James Durbin- He sang " Higher Than Heaven" this was awesome I really liked it. His album sold over 100,000 Copies. He is on tour with different singers.

Jennifer Hudson and Ne-yo. I didn't catch what they sang. I am sorry.

Elimination Time:

Colton- Safe
Skylar- Safe
Phil- Safe
Elise- Bottom Three
Joshua- Bottom Three
Jessica- Bottom Three
Hollie- Safe

Bottom Three:
Elise- Safe
Joshua- Safe
Jessica- She had to sing. While she was singing the judges came up on stage and the were really made about this. They used there save for Jessica.

My opinion on last night I think that Hollie should have gone home. She is the weak link with the Top 7.

Thank you for taking your time to read this and please feel free to leave your comment!♥
