This is how the trees looked when we left town on Friday afternoon. We got about nine inches of wet snow Thursday night into Friday morning. When I took Drew to work on Friday morning some of the roads were alright but then some roads were really bad. While Drew was at work I finished packing everything and I packed the car. When I picked Drew up in the afternoon the roads were really good and I was glad because that was when we left town to go up north.

Driving up north was so relaxing for me and I was really enjoying the time with Drew in the car. Drew was watching for the birds and other animals while I was driving. He kept saying there this kind of bird there is this kind of hawk. We didn't stop until we got to Appleton to have dinner and met my older daughter she had my little great-niece with her. Drew didn't know we were going to have dinner with my daughter until I told him when we were in the middle of Milwaukee on the bypass. That is because I just talked to my daughter that morning to see if she had to work. It was so nice to see her again, we haven't seen her since Christmas. Then from there we went to Drew's parents house which is where we stayed for the weekend.

Saturday morning we got up at 7am so we could get out early to go to Door County. The weather was alright a little foggy and misty. On the way we saw some Ravens, Crows, Bald Eagles, Morning Doves and Red Tailed Hawks. The reason for the trip to Door County is in the town of Ephrain there is a Northern Hawk Owl on the corner of Hwy 57 & Cty Hwy Q. Below is a picture of the Northern Hawk Owl.

He was really hard to find we are so thankful to a lady stopping and letting us know were he was sitting. If it was not for her we probably would have never found him. I think he is a beautiful owl. This was a seven in a half hour round trip to find him. Then when we got back to the house Drew's dad said that the deer were out by the driveway. There was six deer right by the driveway eating and we stood by the kitchen window watching them. That day I was so relaxed and just enjoying myself so much.

Sunday morning we got up at 7am again and packed the car up said goodbye to Drew's parents. I was so thankful that they let us come up and stay at there house and for everything and we do miss them very much. That morning we met my son and grandkids in Shawano for breakfast. The grandkids are getting so big. Here are some pictures of them.

This is our seventeen month old Granddaughter. She is a very happy little girl and Grandma shared her breakfast with her that morning. She is looking more and more like her mom.

This is our four month old Grandson. Grandpa was holding him so I could get a picture of him. He is a very happy little boy. He is looking more and more like his dad.

It was funny Drew was showing my son some pictures and our Grandson was looking at the camera like Grandpa show me the pictures too and our Granddaughter was looking at the pictures smiling and pointing at the pictures. Even though it was a short visit at a restaurant I really enjoyed it. We miss them all so much. My son is on medical leave from work because last month he had knee surgery done. It was great to see him up and walking around already. The kids were great while we were in the restaurant. You can say we are very proud Grandparents.

Then on the way home I get a text message from Drew's son asking if I can do him a big favor Monday. I asked him what and he said to take his girlfriends dad to the school and pick up his IPhone that was taken away by a teacher. I told him that I would have to talk to his dad about it and would let him know later. So when we got home and put everything away I called Drew's ex-wife and talked her about it and to see if she knew about it. So her and I came to a agreement that the IPhone would stay here by our house. His son text me that night saying don't take the IPhone away my girlfriend has notes on the there. I told him he has to come over tomorrow and talk to his dad about it.

Monday morning I took the girlfriends dad to get the IPhone and come to find out that she lied to her dad. She told him it was her mom's cell phone that was taken away. So when we got to the school I asked the lady in the office if she had something stating about the electronics and she gave me a handbook and showed me what page it was on. Her dad and I looked at the phone and found out it was the IPhone and it has been sitting in the office for six days. Him and I were so mad because of the lying by the kids. When I went to see Drew for lunch I told him about this and he said wait until his son came over. So when the kids came over they did not get the IPhone back. I talked to her day and we made her write all her notes down on paper. When the kids left I told them to be honest with us because I am never going to lie to her dad for them. All I can say it is going to be a very long time before I believe anything they say to us. I am very upset with both of them and my stomach all day yesterday was very upset. After enjoying my weekend this is not what I wanted to come home too.

Let's just say four days of getting up early and doing a lot of driving. I was so worn out last night from the last four days and my body was hurting. Last night sitting watching t.v. I felt like I was still in the car driving. I asked Drew if we could go back up north and stay there because this is not what I want to come home to again. I hope everyone enjoyed there weekend.

Yes this is the sign in the window of Sentry Foods on Washington Ave in Racine Wi. It is a really sad time for all of the employee's right now.

What I want to let everyone know is the true reason why Sentry closed it's door. We had a store meeting back in November about the store closing and the owner was there letting us know what was happening. He is the one that told us the true reason of the store closing. That reason is the owner was losing five percent every year the store was open. This owner was in town for five years and every year he has lost money instead of making money. All the employee's had sixty days notice that the store was closing which I thought was really great. Some of the people had found new jobs before the store closed.

The reason why I am letting you know the truth is because I am so tired of hearing everyone blaming it on Wal-Mart moving across the street from there. That is not the reason because Wal-Mart has not even broke ground yet. That is all I heard for the last two months at work and I could not say the true reason to the customers they also kept saying that they would not shop at Wal-Mart anymore.

I worked until the last day on Friday and I can say that when I was saying good bye to everyone it was really sad. As I walked out the door to go and pick up Drew from work I started to cry because I am going to miss everyone I have gotten to know over the last year and a half.

I hope this helps everyone understand the true reason of the store closing. I was not allowed to say anything while the store was still open so I figured now it is closed and I will let you know.

Yes I am doing my revue on Led Zeppelin's album Celebration Day. I bought this album for one of Drew's Christmas presents this year. I had to go the day it came out to pick it up and I was glad I did. Because the one I bought only had three left after I bought mine. The set I bought Drew has two cd's, the concert on dvd and rehearsal session on dvd that means a total of four cd's. If you like Led Zeppelin at all this is one that you need in your collection. Drew takes it all over with him to listen to the cd's.

The thing for me I would rather listen to the concerts than the studio versions. Some of the studio versions are alright but you get the whole picture of how the band really is unless you listen to them in concert. We listened to this album on the way up north for Christmas and I really like this one. I really didn't like Led Zeppelin until I met Drew and he will tell you that too.

Yes the band is up there in age but I will tell you one thing they did not miss a beat. Robert Plant his voice sounds just as great as back in the day, Jimmy Page on the guitar never missed a note it was great, John Paul Jones on bass he never missed a note and he also came out from the shadow and you seen him more on the dvd, Yes John Bonham was not there but his son Jason Bonham was on the drums for the concert and I will tell you one thing he never missed a beat on the drums and I know his dad is watching him and is so proud of him right now. Jason also did background vocals on Good Times Bad Times. We watched the dvd on New Years Eve and I felt like I was there at the concert.

The concert was December 10, 2007 at Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert London's O2 Arena. The album was released November 19, 2012.

I am going to leave you with a picture of the band on stage. Please feel free to leave any comments!
I pray that 2013 will be a better year for everyone. If anyone is going out tonight please be safe and have a designated driver that will make it safe and fun for everyone.

For me I am staying home with the most wonderful man tonight. Yes Drew and I will be home by ourselves tonight. I have two bottles of wine from his mom and dad, a bottle of champagne and we have a bunch of snack food for us tonight. We also went and rented some movies to sit and watch tonight. That will be are night so we are not out in the cold and we don't have to worry about drunk drivers. I do have to work this morning but then I am off the next three days.
Happy New Year to everyone and have a great 2013! It was great and I had so much fun watching my granddaughter rip open her presents. The best part when when my sons girlfriend opened a blanket for my grandson then my granddaughter thought it was hers. Then she opened her blanket and she put her head on the blanket. Her is my granddaughter with the blanket I made for her.

She was so happy to get her own blanket. She is getting so big now and I just can't wait for her to be able to say Grandma and Grandpa.

After the presents were done being open Drew brought out a ring and let the kids know we are engaged. Yes Drew and I are engaged as of Christmas Eve. I knew about it because I was able to pick out my engagement ring. We are not pushing it to get married right away because I would like to wait for our Grandchildren to be old enough to understand this and be able to walk down the aisle to be flower girl and ring bearer.

When we left my sons house we went to my younger sisters house because my younger daughter was staying there the night. My mom was there and you should have seen the look on my moms face she was so happy. My younger sister was so jealous about it all. Then from there we went to Drew's parents house to spend Christmas Eve with his family. His mom was the first one to know about us being engaged and she was so happy for us. Then the rest of the family was told and it was so nice to know that they are happy for us. Then Christmas Day morning we went back to my sisters house to open presents with my younger sister and my mom then we went to my older sisters house for Christmas Day with the rest of my family. That is when her family was told about Drew and I being engaged and they are happy for us.

This is a picture of my engagement ring. I have the best man I love more than anything else in the world and he is the sweetest man I have ever met. This Christmas was the happiest one for me because I was able to go and be with both families that I love very much and I was with the one and only man I love so much.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas!

I just want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and please if you have any travel plans be careful. I am writing this early because tomorrow morning Drew, the kids and I are going to be traveling up north to our families.

I just can't wait to see all the family on Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day. I think some of my sadness is because I really miss the family. I know some of it is because my dad is not with us for Christmas anymore but I know he is looking down and watching all of us.

Tomorrow we get to see my older daughter, my son and his girlfriend and the grandkids after we open gifts with the kids we go to Drew's family have dinner and spend the night at their house. Then Christmas Day morning we go and exchange gifts with my mom and younger sister then we go to my older sister's house. After that we come home. Drew has to go to work on Wednesday. Yes the next two days is a lot of traveling for us. But the best part of it is to see the family and I am with the one and only man that means everything to me yes that is Drew that I love with all my heart.

This is the first sign you will see when you go to Candy Cane Lane in West Allis Wi.. It was Drew, his son, his son's girlfriend and myself that had gone to see the lights. This was on a Friday night that we had gone and it was a last minute decision to go. It has been about three weeks ago that we had gone. Yes I know why did I wait so long to write about it. I have been really busy with work, Christmas shopping and baking cookies.

I just want to say if you want to go and see some really awesome Christmas lights this is the place to go. They are also doing a donation for the M.A.C.C. Fund this is Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer. It is your choice to give a donation or not we gave a donation. I seen a lot of people just drive past the people standing out there by the stand not donating.

So on to the Christmas lights that we had taken on this night. We had an awesome time taking the pictures to share. I hope you all enjoy some of the pictures I put on here.

Yes it is the time of the year to go out and see all the Christmas lights. This was my Dad's favorite time of the year. I remember when I was younger my Dad and Mom would take us girls out to drive around to look at the Christmas lights. So now Drew and I are driving around and taking pictures of the different Christmas lights. The picture above was taken on the road by the Lighthouse in Racine Wi..

This was taken on Aberdeem Drive Racine Wi.. The really nice thing about this is you turn your radio to a Christmas station in your car and the lights go along with the music. The next two pictures will be by this house also.

This was taken on Main St. Racine Wi.. I was looking for the Nativity set up but was not there. If I have a picture of it from last year I will post it on my next post.

I hope everyone enjoys the Christmas light pictures I am posting. To see more I will have all of them on my facebook. I am just enjoying going out taking these pictures for everyone to enjoy just as much as I am enjoying going out looking at the lights. I am hoping to get out to Candy Cane Lane to get some pictures from there.

On Wednesday morning I had gotten a phone call from my supervisor at work. She told me that there was a mandatory store meeting at 7pm and I had to be there. I told her I would be there not to worry and I asked her if she knew what the meeting was about. She told me no she did not know anything. A mandatory store meeting means all the employees have to be there. In the year I have been there we never had a mandatory store meeting at all.

When Drew called me on his lunch break from his work I told him about the phone call. We both tried to figure out what this was all about. But we both had a feeling this was not good at all. I thought it might have been about the Holidays coming up, the store closing, new store policies and being sold. This was on my mind all day Wednesday.

When I went to work for the meeting everyone was standing around waiting to clock in for the meeting. Then the meeting started and the owner and all the managers came in to the room. That is when we got the news that the store is going to be closing January 11, 2013. We received a letter at the meeting telling use about the closing and one of the managers read it to use. The owner felt really bad about having to close the store. The store has been in Racine, Wi for five years and has not really made any kind of a profit. Then we have Wal-Mart coming across the street from us and that is really going to hurt the store even more. After the meeting a lot of the employees were so upset, yes I do understand why but there is nothing we can do about the decision the owner has made.

I started there August 1, 2011 and I can say from my own experience working there that it is a really nice store to work for. Yes like any job you have your ups and downs. But when I have asked for time off I was always able to get it. A lot of the other employees I get along with really good. I am going to miss working there and seeing the friends I have made while working there.

Yesterday it was in the paper about the store closing. While at work yesterday I was also let known that the store will only be open from 8am to 8pm. Yes that means less hours for me now. That is when I finally realized the store is really going to close and I will be out of a job for sure. So now I am going to have to start to look for a new job and that is not going to be easy around here. It took me almost a year before I found this one when I moved her with Drew and now I have to go through it again. Next week I am going to start looking on the computer for a job and if I get one before the store closes then I get one and I pray I can find a good job with insurance.

Today when I went into to work the customers complained about the store closing and asked me why the store was closing. So I told them the reason was because of Wal-Mart coming across the street and the owner sad that we could not compete with that. So many customers said this was the main store that they would shop at and would never shop at Wal-Mart.

Yes it is that time of the year. The reason I like this time of the year is to see what kind of costumes the little kids are going to wear also to see how crazy people decorate their houses. We just happened to stop and get some pictures this year. We didn't plan on going out and getting Halloween pictures when we seen these houses. The one above was on the north side of Racine.

Yes my final fall pictures are here. I just can not believe the end of the beautiful colors has come to an end. While we were up north Drew's parents had let me know about a different pine tree. In this picture above is a Tamarack Tree on Hwy DD in Pickeral Wi.. The needles are very short and very soft. This tree is green in the spring and summer and turns yellow in the fall. I am so thankful for mom and dad for letting me know about the Tamarack Tree they seen another picture of this tree on another post to let me know.

This picture is on Hwy W in the town of Doty by were my mom use to live. Yes it was raining up north all weekend. I just could not believe the fall colors were still up there but some trees are bare up there too.

This picture was taken on Hwy 55 in the Menominee Reservation. Yes I stopped in on the road to take this picture because it looks like a tunnel of fall colors you are going under. It was so pretty when we went back and forth to town I knew this was one picture I had to get.

Drew told me to add this picture because it does show the fall color of the tree in the back and no leaves on the tree with the Bald Eagle. This picture was taken on Hwy 55 by Lily Wi.. To get this picture I made a u-turn in the middle of the road. Drew asked me what I was doing and I told him I think I seen an Eagle in the tree. Sure enough that is what I seen and we had gotten some beautiful pictures of him. He started to get skiddish so I went and turned around to get back to the house. The next day when we went to the hospital to say goodbye to my son and his girlfriend my son told me an Eagle swooped down and went past him. I believe to this day that was my dad telling my son congratulations for his son. My son believes the same thing.

I hope everyone has enjoyed the fall colors as much as I have taking the pictures to share with you. Please feel free to leave your comments!Tender Heart Bearhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13066055559647242770noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1094058305964810786.post-9581289594082261312012-10-17T14:32:00.002-05:002012-10-17T14:33:34.158-05:00My Grandson Is Here!

Yes my Grandson was born on Friday morning. I had gotten a phone call from my mom while I was going around Milwaukee that my Grandson was born. He is 7lbs 15oz and 20 inches long.

I just couldn't wait to get up there to see him. His name is Ace William Drogemuller, yes my son named him after the guitar and bass player from the group KISS. My son wanted to name him after himself which would have been the third but his girlfriend said no. William is after my father, I am happy he decided name him after my dad because I know how much my son loves his Grandpa.

As soon as we walked into the room I was handed my Grandson. I didn't even get a chance to get my jacket off. Then Grandpa went into action taking pictures of Ace and Grandma. I had to have Drew help me get my jacket off, yes I was having a problem taking my jacket off because it was a hoody sweatshirt. It was so nice to be able to hold my Grandson and see the family too. The main thing is that Ace and Mommy are both doing really good and they went home on Monday.

Then we had the jealous big sister Skylee she is thirteen months old. I have never seen her act like this at all but she was so jealous of her brother. If Mom or Dad would hold him she would scream for attention.

So Grandma and Grandpa took her for the night up to Drew's parents house. At first when we got there she was crabby because she didn't know where she was and just woke up from a nap in the car. But she had gotten use to everything and she did really good. In the morning she was given a tour of the house by Great Grandma. After that she was following Great Grandma all over the house.

After Skylee had a bath and Drew and I had our showers we went back to town. Our first stop was to go and say hi to Aunt Kay at her work. It really surprised me that Skylee went right up to Aunt Kay and put her arms up for Aunt Kay to pick her up. We had some shopping to do and we bought both of the kids a pumpkin for Halloween. Skylee had to pick both of them out. Then we went back up to the hospital to see Ace, my son and his girlfriend again. Skylee couldn't get to Daddy quick enough for him to pick her up.

I found this picture on facebook of Skylee holding her little brother Ace. I thought this was so cute and I had to share it with you.

It was a long ride home on Sunday. We left Drew's parents around 10am.. We went to the hospital to say goodbye to everyone and to hold my Grandson one more time before coming home. Then we went to my sisters house to get my youngest daughter and her things packed in the car, we said goodbye to my mom and sister. Then from there we had to take my daughter back to Whitewater to college, get my schedule from work and finally made it home. We did not get home and get the car unpacked until 8pm.. Then I kept my promise to Drew's mom and my mom to call them and let them both know we made it home. Then Drew and I had to be up at 4am. to go to work the next day. We need a vacation from the weekend. Monday at work I felt like I was still on the road driving.

I will say one thing the trip was worth all of it. Because we were able to see all of the family and Drew was able to get some good wildlife pictures and I was able to get some nice fall pictures along the way. Drew asked me on the way home what I thought the highlight of the weekend was I would have to say the whole weekend seeing everyone. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I have been enjoying taking the pictures. I just love going out and looking at all the colors.

I couldn't believe it when I went past Pritchard Park yesterday all the trees you seen in my pictures the leaves are coming down already. Half of the trees there at bare. I really blew me away when I seen that yesterday.

I am going to try to get some pictures of the trees with some of the leaves on them still. We are going up north this weekend so I am going to try to get some pictures up there. So next week will be my last Fall Colors Post.
I was suppose to go to work this past Sunday but could not make it. I woke up at 1am with a very bad pain on the side of my left leg going from my hip to my knee. It was very hard to walk on that leg. I have to stand at work for my shift and lift things. So I didn't go to work that day.

Drew went out to Cliffside Park in Crestview to look for his wildlife Sunday morning. So while he was out there he took these pictures for me. All of the pictures in this post are from Cliffside Park.
I just can't get over the beautiful pictures that he took for me. I had to make one post of these pictures because there are so many pretty pictures of the fall colors. I hope everyone is enjoying these pictures just as much as I am going out there and taking them to share with all of you.

I have the very sweetest man in the world because he is always thinking of me when he is out there taking pictures. I love him so much.

Yes it is that time of the year again when the weather starts to get
colder and the trees start to change. The colors of the tree are so
beautiful this time of the year. This picture above is taken at the
University of Whitewater College this past weekend when we went to pick
my daughter up for the weekend. I noticed when we left here and on the
way out to the college the colors on the trees are a lot lighter toward
the college.

This picture was taken at the University of Whitewater College on are way home. I could not pass this one up because of how bright the colors are on the tree. My daughter thinks I am crazy for stopping and taking these pictures.

This picture of the Pine Tree was taken at Smolenski Park here in Racine Wi.. I couldn't believe that the Pine Tree was starting to turn yellow already. I just thought I would share this one with you.

I seen this tree at Smolenski Park here in Racine Wi. also. I just loved the way you see the red and green together. When I seen this I had to take the picture. I think this is just so beautiful the way it is changing it's colors.

This picture was taken by the Racine Airport. I seen this on the way home from work and then I went home and got the camera and came back to get the picture. This is so pretty with all the different colors. I was on my way to pick Drew up from work too.

This picture I stopped on the side of 4mile rd in Racine Wi to take this picture on my way to pick Drew up from work. I seen how the colors are changing and I wanted the picture.

I hope everyone enjoys these pictures because this is only the beginning for the fall colors and only the beginning for my to post the fall pictures as I get them!Tender Heart Bearhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13066055559647242770noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1094058305964810786.post-4207967592181729772012-09-25T17:34:00.000-05:002012-09-25T17:35:38.125-05:00NFL So Called Replacement Officials!I have been seeing a lot of very bad calls with the so called replacement officials since preseason of football. This is getting so bad that a lot of people are starting to say they are not going to be watching football anymore.
I found out a lot of information from a friend at work today. The people that are the refs right now only had two weeks of training before preseason, also they have regular jobs like us. What gives them the right to even be on the field with the NFL players if they do not have any experience.

Since regular season there has been so many bad calls on all the teams. This is really getting bad and the NFL really needs to get the original officials out there to do their job and end the lockout with them. Yes I know that they also have some bad calls but not this bad. The NFL needs to come to an agreement with them real quick so this stops already.

I was watching last nights Monday Night Football game it was the Packers and the Seahawks. This game was really bad from the beginning with the calls. Aaron Rodgers was sacked about eight times and some of them should have been penalties. Then the refs could not get the players numbers right when they did call a penalty. The first half was mainly an all defense game. I have to say that part was really good with the way the defense did play. But the offense did a bad job protecting Aaron Rodgers. Then the second half was like the Packers are back.

This is the main reason I am writing this post. The last call of the game in which the Packers lost the game. The picture below show two refs calling to different things. One is saying touchdown and the other is saying touch back. This was the worst call they could have made for the season everyone could see in the replay last night that clearly the Packers had the ball. But yet they called it that the Seahawks won the game. They only looked at the replay for a couple minutes and made that call. If this was up to me to say I would say these refs are paid off by the other team with the way they made the calls last night.

To let people know I grew up in Illinois and I am a Bears fan. But when I see something wrong like this last night I will stick up for the right team. Right now I am sticking up for all the NFL teams because this is completely wrong right now. I really hope everyone understands why I am writing this, I just had to voice my opinion on what I have seen happening.

Yes this past Sunday we went back to Horicon. This time I was able to see a lot more than the last time we went up there. I really enjoyed myself so much. Along HWY 49 we seen so many different wildlife animals, there was a field just full of so many different animals I just could not believe my eyes when I seen all of them. We did take pictures of the fields of the wildlife.

Then we went on the auto tour road and I was taking pictures of the Fall colors changing. The picture above is of the floating Boardwalk. This is so beautiful to walk and see. Sunday was the first time I was able to take this walk with Drew. I just could not believe my eyes when I seen this.

This is along the auto tour road. I had to stop and get this picture for everyone. The fall colors are starting to come in up north and it is so nice to see.

This is a pond on the side of the same road and you can see a swan in the water towards the top of the picture along with the flowers. I just could not believe my eyes when I seen the scenery it was so lovely and the swan in the pond just made it more beautiful.

This is the blanket of yellow flowers that I was talking about in my last post. It is just beautiful and it is along the floating Boardwalk. This is in a lot of the fields in Horicon. If you remember the first picture at the top of this post you see like a lookout tower that is were I took this picture.

This is down the road from the floating Boardwalk. It is two different ponds with all kinds of wildlife in them. This is towards the end of the auto tour road.

In the distance you can see the turbine's above the trees. Yes we were not that far away from them, we past them on the way down the road to the wildlife refuge. If you see the tops of the trees starting to change there colors it is so beautiful.

Along this road is a lot of different bike or hiking trails you can go down. In the spring I would love to go and walk the trails to be able to get the wildflowers just starting to bud. I will try to get back up that way to get the fall colors of the trees when they change the beautiful colors.

If you like to see the wildlife and the wildflowers this is the place to go and see it all. For me this is the best place to take a walk and see the beautiful land and how peaceful it is up there. It actually give you a true peace of mind how beautiful our land and wildlife really is. If it wasn't for Drew taking me there I would have never known how this really could make a person feel. This past Saturday Drew, his son and I took a ride up north between Lomira and Fond Du Lac. We went to Horican Marsh Wildlife Refuge. The place is really huge it goes from just south of Fond Du Lac to down by a town call Theresa. We went to the north side of it to see what we could find between the wildlife and the wildflowers.

We took Hwy 41 to Cty Hwy 49. When you get off at Cty Hwy 49 you go left and you come to a lookout point. I pulled into the parking lot and seen so many different flowers. I could not believe this it was just so awesome. The flower above is an Orange Milkweed flower. This is just the start of what we seen out there.

As we walked the path I was just getting to see so many different flowers. It was so exciting to be able to see the different flowers. The one above is an Ironweed flower. I thought this one was just beautiful and I had to take a picture.

We also seen Purple and Yellow Cornflowers. It was like a blanket of different kinds of flowers out there. I have so many pictures of the Cornflowers that is why I just picked this one. I was in heaven with all the flowers out there.

This is a Golden Ragwort. Between the Golden Ragwort, the False Dandelion and the Tall Golden Rod you could see this for miles they just blanketed the prairie. It was just so beautiful to see that out there. It was just a gorgeous blanket of yellow flowers to see.The one below is a False Dandelion and below that is Tall Golden Rod.

Then we left this area and we drove down the road to a marsh. I was driving on the gravel along the road and water looking at the wildlife in the water. This was just as beautiful as looking at the prairie of flowers. I was so peaceful out there listening to the calls of the wildlife. It was about a mile of driving and stopping for pictures.

Along the way I could not pass up this picture of the Cattail above. The two different colors of brown and tan on it. That was just so different for me. The only ones I was seeing was brown and fuzzy around here. You would see the Cattails along the side of the road with different flowers. The flower below the Cattail is a Chicory, Cichorium Intybus. It is really nice to finally see a lot of different flowers and they are so beautiful.

Down the road I seen this purple flower then when we came up to the flower I seen it and said I don't have this flower in my wildflower folder. So I took a picture of Purple Prairie Clover with False Dandelions. That looks like a gorgeous bouquet of flowers.

Then we went further down the road I seen a sign to turn left for an auto tour that takes about a half hour. Well with us it was a lot longer than that. When we keep seeing different wildlife and wildflowers to take pictures.

We came along the auto trail to find this flower Late Purple Aster. It looks like a daisy because it is in the daisy family.

Going down the road we seen a lot of different birds flying across the road like a Cardinal, Swallows and Starlings. Drew had the binoculars and in the distant he saw a Bald Eagle out there. There are lots of walking trails and a Boardwalk. We got out of the car to go by the Boardwalk and when we came back to the car I told Drew we had to start heading home. We spent about three hours out there and I promised Drew we would go back there. This was just one little spot that we spent three hours at. More to come from Horicon Marsh.
A year ago today my Granddaughter was born at 1:35 am. My son's girlfriend went in to labor the day before and it made for one long day at the hospital. But in the end we have one beautiful Granddaughter.

I remember my son calling me asking if I was going to go up to Shawano, Wi to be there when she was born. I told him I had to talk to Drew about it. My son kept calling every half hour and kept saying mom I want you here or I need you here. So we made the trip up there and we stayed there with him until she was born.

I can tell everyone one thing I am the proudest Grandma and I am so proud of my son he is such a good Dad with her. When she see's her Daddy that is all she wants is to be with her Daddy.

This last year having her in our lives has been a blessing. When we see her it is like she just lights up our lives with her smiles, laughing and just being a very happy little girl. Now she is walking and getting into everything, when I seen that I was just so happy.

At the birthday party I was really surprised to see my ex-father-in-law there. He lives down in Illinois and he made the trip up there for her first birthday. I was so happy to see him and see he is doing really good. My two older kids were just as happy to see him. My youngest daughter didn't make it to the birthday party because we moved her to college.

The party was just great and we had a great time with everyone. She got spoiled with a lot of gifts from everyone and Grandpa and I bought her a little rocking horse that she just loves to play on. She did not want to get off of it.

Then it was time for the cake and she tried so hard to blow out the candle. It was so cute how she just kept trying. I didn't know that you can get a separate little personal cake for the kids now. That is what she had and did she make a mess out of it.

Just like any little kid with there first cake making a mess. All I can say to my son was have fun cleaning her up. She was having so much fun eating her cake she always had a smile on her face eating it. I think she was getting a real sugar high eating the cake because she was just eating all the frosting more than the cake.

I just want to say HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY to my Granddaughter. Grandpa and Grandma love you very much!♥
Yes today we are moving my daughter into her dorm room at the University of Whitewater. This past week has been crazy at our house. Trying to make sure she has everything to move into her dorm, getting everything packed up and making sure my son is coming to help us.

I know there is always a lot of the last minute things you have to get from the store that you forget when you are there. It just feels like you are at the store everyday getting something that she forgets to tell me that she will need. But we put all the main things on layaway back in the beginning of July. I will let you know that really helps out a lot doing it that way.

Now for the packing part was just crazy here. Lets see were to start about this one. In one of the bins I packed all of her school supplies and in the other bin is all of her extras like plates, bowls, cups right now I don't remember what else. Then two duffel bags of clothes yes two and one of the duffel bags is ours. There is a lot of stuff that I had to make sure was packed for her. She told me that if she did the packing that there would be a lot more bags or boxes needed. She even has a 6 drawer plastic dresser to take with her that is packed with stuff in it.

Last night Drew packed out car and there is still more to be packed when my son gets here with his car. I even went through my cabinet and refrigerator to see what food she would be able to take.I just found out that my son got pulled over by the state police an hour away from here. But he got lucky and just got a warning because he told the officer that he was on his way here to move his sister to college.

I know I keep saying I can't wait for this day to come but deep down inside me I am going to miss my daughter being around. She is my youngest child out of my three kids. I am just so proud of her going to college and I pray she keeps up her grades and proves her dad wrong. Her dad said she will not make it to get her major. I know my daughter if she puts her mind to it and does her best she will make it. Kimmy we love you and we will miss you!Tender Heart Bearhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13066055559647242770noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1094058305964810786.post-7436226781302863922012-08-17T11:58:00.001-05:002012-08-17T12:06:40.113-05:00My Mom Losing Her Home! You have seen with my other posts that we have been really busy the month of July. Sorry I haven't written much.

We went to two concerts at Summerfest, had my Granddaughter for a few days and we have been going back and forth up north a lot and I will be explaining the reason for that. This summer has been going pretty good this year. When we didn't have my Granddaughter or going to concerts or going up north we went walking or driving looking for wildlife or wildflowers.

The concerts I really enjoyed both of them. We got to see some friends we haven't seen since last year and I got to meet another one of Drew's friends this year. For the Aerosmith concert it was Drew, two of his friends both men and myself. So I looked at it this way I had three bodyguards with me. That week was just awesome.

Then the weekend with my Granddaughter I had a great time with her. Everyone said she was just going to cry the whole time but the only time she did cry was when she was tired. I would do that again for my son and his girlfriend. I enjoyed every minute with her and I know that Grandpa did too.

Now for the reason of going up north so much is last year my older sister told me that my mom's mortgage was three months past due and it was going to go into foreclosure. My mom had an acre and a half of land with a mobile home.So she was looking for everyone to help her get the money together before my mom found out about it. At the time she was asking for the money I didn't have a job yet so we couldn't help her out.

My mom found out about it and she talked to the people at the bank and they said if you come up with this amount of money then we will work with you. So we were sending my mom money every month and all of a sudden she said that she is going to have to file bankruptcy on her house and land. So she told me not to send her anymore money. So I thought everything was alright until this past June on the way to my nieces wedding. My mom told me she had to come up with so much money to file her bankruptcy the following month.

Before we left that weekend of my nieces wedding I stopped to talk to my mom and find out exactly how much money she needed. She showed me all the papers and she thought she had told me all about this a long time ago. I told her she never told me about the bankruptcy money other wise we would have been sending her some money every month to help her out.

Drew and I came home I looked over the bills and took care of the checkbook. Then we sat and we talked about it. We decided that we are the only ones that are willing to help my mom out. My older sister only cares about her kids and what they want and need, my younger sister cares only about herself and has my mom paying all her bills. So that only leaves my kids, Drew and I. My older sister's kids are all grown but they still expect mom to do everything for them.

Then the weekend after I had my Granddaughter we had to go up there and start going through my mom's house to get rid of things she didn't want. It was just Drew and I helping my mom that weekend. That was the weekend we were suppose to go out to South Dakota. My mom wanted to go and get a tea set that my Great Aunt had left for me it is an antique tea set with twenty four karat gold on it.

We went through twelve big plastic bins from her shed and pack away a good dinner set that was my Grandma's and a silver serving set. In one of the bins was all my Dad's things that my mom kept. I was able to get a few of my dad's things and some pictures. I didn't have any pictures of my dad's mom and him. We filled my car up twice once to go to Goodwill and the second time to go to my mom's storage shed in town.

Then the last three weekends my son, one of my nieces, my son's friend and my mom finished packing and moving the rest of my mom's things. I wasn't able to go up there to help my mom get the rest of her things out of the house because we didn't have the time with work or the gas money. My mom is so understanding about that.I felt so bad about not being there for her then. My son is so tired from moving everything so is my mom.

The thing for me with my mom losing her house is I feel like I am losing my dad again. Going up there was like being with my dad again. It was the place my dad was always happy at. My mom and dad had bought the land forty years ago when we lived in Illinois. When we first went up there we had a travel trailer then the following year they bought a mobile home. Then twenty three years ago my dad had a triple bypass and my parents bought a new mobile home with a big deck and central air for my dad. My three kids grew up there part of there lives too just like I did. My kids are so upset with what is happening to there Grandma.

My mom is going to be living with my younger sister since she pays the bills there anyway. Then my older sister said she can stay by her house when she wants to and she knows she is always welcome to come by us to get away too. My mom keeps saying this is a new start for her.

There was a lot of things that needed to be fixed on her house like the roof, electric pole, the siding and the deck. Some trees needed to get pruned back and her shed up there needed to be rebuilt. I know she could not afford to fix all of that herself. Plus her land taxes kept going up on her and she was having a hard time paying that.

Well in a week and a half my youngest daughter will be leaving for college. I have been helping her get everything she needs for college. That is another post about all that.

Thank you for reading this and feel free to leave any comments!♥
On August first I will have been there for a year. I have never seen such a turn around with employees coming and going.

Yesterday my supervisor was training four more people for cashiering. I could not believe that since I am only getting about thirteen hours a week right now. This is really crazy and I am looking for a new job.

In the mean time I figured I would give you some of the crazy stories about my last year working there. This place is really unbelievable and is good for a laugh.

We have to check I.D's for liquor with every customer. I get yelled at by all the elderly people. They say to me what do you mean you have to see my I.D. for this. I tell them I am sorry but is town ordinance and my register will not go any farther until I see an I.D.. Then they show it to me.

I had this one lady she had liquor also, I asked her for her I.D. and she said what are you talking about. I told her that I needed to see it for her liquor. She said I was asking for it to be racist. I told her that I am not racist that this is the town ordinance and we have to ask every customer that purchases liquor. She still called me racist and I asked her if she would like to talk to a manager. She said yes and I called the manager on duty and he came to the register and told the lady the same thing I did. She told my manager I was racist and he said no not this cashier she is not racist. He explained it again to the lady and she called both of us racist. He asked the lady nicely if she still would like to purchase the liquor and she said yes. He said we will need an I.D. then. She finally showed us her I.D. and said she is never shopping here again.

With dealing with this customer I had about five people in line after her with shopping carts full of groceries. So my manager stayed and bagged the groceries for me. He said that he was having a hard time keeping up with me.

Then on Wednesday's is the worst day with the elderly. I had this one elderly lady come through my line with her groceries. She was yelling at me saying some of what she had was on sale. I looked at my ad and there was nothing on sale that she was talking about. Our ads go from Thursday to Wednesday. I asked her if she was looking at the one that started on Thursday and she said no. So I had to call my manager and he came up there. The lady said I was being rued to her. The manager asked what she meant by that and she said I was telling her that she was wrong about the things on sale. He looked at what she was purchasing and he said that is all for Thursdays ad and she could not get the sale price until then. Then she yelled at him and said he was rued too. We both did apologize to the lady but demanded the sale price that day. We could not do that and she left with out buying anything.

I have these regular customers that come in when I am working. This one guy was in the line with the elderly lady and when he came up to the register he told my manager that I am never rued to any of the customers. The manager told him that he knows I am not rued and said that I always joke around with the customers and the employees. My manager said that I also give some of the managers a hard time too. The guy said you have to be joking. I said if I can't have a good time at work why work at that job.

Here is the best one of all. This happened about two weeks ago. I had a guy come in my line to purchase liquor. I asked him for his I.D. and he said why, so I told him the reason. He asked to talk to the manager. So I called my manager I explained what was happening. The guy said he does not have to show any kind of I.D. he is old enough to purchase the liquor. The manager said we know you are old enough but it is the town ordinance and we can not sell this to you with out seeing an I.D.. The manager voided out this sale because the guy wanted to talk to the police about this. He did not believe that this was true. The next thing I see is the guy handcuffed and the police walking him out. I asked my manager what was going on come to find out this guy had five warrants out for him. I was like how stupid this guy was to want to talk to the police if he knew about the warrants.

I had a girl come through my line she had a new born baby in the car seat on the front of the cart and a diaper bag in the back. I rang up what she was buying she paid for her groceries. Then I see security taking her to the office with the cart. The next customer in line was the girls mom and she asking me what is going on. I told the lady I have no idea that I can call the manger up and she can ask him. So I called my manager he came up and told the lady to go with him and they will find out together. I found out she was stealing about sixty dollars in groceries it was in the diaper bag under the diapers.

I have to ask every customer if that is everything out of their carts. This girl said yes it was, I am not allowed to go around the counter and go through a diaper bag. The store did press charges on this girl and she did have to do time in jail. There has been a lot of customers that have gone through my line and have tried to steal but have been caught. I have no idea until I see them going to the office.

I was saying earlier about the regulars that come into the store. It is nice to see them because you know you have someone to joke around with, especially when you are having a bad day at work. On a Friday I had the day off and I went to work to get my check and get next weeks work schedule. I came out from the back of the store getting my schedule and one of the guys I joke around with was in the store. He said that I was not in my work clothes to be there. I told him that is because I had the day off and he said I am not allowed to have a day off when he is in the store. I told him he will have to deal with who was up front on the registers. He told me he wanted me to be up there so he had someone to pick on. I said he is picking on me now so that should be good enough. One of the guys in the meat department said that he was glad he wasn't the only one I pick on. My daughter was with and she told both of them that this is how I am at home to with her and my boyfriend. They both said they were glad I was like this all the time.

When was on vacation and when I went back to work some of the people thought I quit my job. I said no I was on vacation, I said what did you miss me. A couple of them said yea because no one was picking on me and I said oh poor baby. Then they would said yea you are back.

I hope you enjoy what I deal with at work. Feel free to leave a comment!♥Tender Heart Bearhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13066055559647242770noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1094058305964810786.post-63839244175210440492012-07-16T13:06:00.002-05:002012-07-16T14:04:52.207-05:00Weekend WIth My Granddaughter!Thursday I went to Oshkosh to pick up my Granddaughter. I was up and out of the house by eight o'clock in the morning. I had to go and drop something off to Drew at work on his break. I could not believe it how busy it was up there already. I was up there at noon and it was the first day for Rock U.S.A.. I was meeting my son at the motel they were staying at to pick up my Granddaughter.

When I got there it was my son, his girlfriend, my older daughter and two of my sons friends. I know his two friends they call me mom too. They put all the stuff in my car and I was talking to them for a few minutes. I couldn't stay long because I had to be back to pick Drew up from work.

I was really surprised that my Granddaughter was really good when I left the motel. She didn't cry and she fell asleep in the car on the way back. I had the air conditioner on and the radio going. It was a lot of driving for me that day. When we finally came home with Grandpa we just stayed home the rest of the day so she could get use to the house.

Then on Friday I took Drew to work again. I had some errands to do that day like always when I have Fridays off. So we went and seen Grandpa for his lunch and he had to share his sandwich with her. Then from there we went to my work to get my work schedule and then we went to do the rest of the errands. She just loved going running around with Grandma. By the time I was done with that it was time to go and pick up Drew from work. When we came home it started to storm here. I put her in the stroller and we went out on the patio to watch the storm and she was just love watching the rain come down. When we ate dinner she just eats what ever we had and right off our plates. She does not like the baby food. After dinner we went to this ice cream shop called Scoops. She just loved it because she got ice cream for all of us. It was my youngest daughter, Drew and I.
Saturday we went to Illinois to see my aunt and my cousin. It was funny because when I made breakfast she was facing me to eat up on the bed then she would turn to Grandpa to get some of what he had on his plate. My aunt has never seen my Granddaughter and this was the first time. It was really nice to see my aunt and cousin again. Even though I don't live that far from them it is hard to find the time to go and see them. They couldn't believe she is walking holding on to furniture. She was really good while we visited no crying and just really happy with all the attention. My cousin made an early dinner that was really good. When we ate she sat on my lap and she had to have what ever Grandma and Grandpa had on there plates.
Then on the way home that day we stopped at the store and she was just sitting in the shopping cart looking around. I went to get some cheese and she had to hold the cheese. It was a small brick of cheese and she tried biting through the wrapper. We did are shopping and came home by that time it was almost time for her to go to bed.
Sunday morning we had to get up early to get ready to take her back to mom and dad. I made breakfast and then it was time to give her a bath. After the bath I made Grandpa get her dressed because he had something on his mind. I was not getting in the middle of this between him and my son. Drew is a Packers fan and my son is a Bears fan. Her is the reason Grandpa dressed her.
When we went to leave there was an Iron Man Marathon going on in town. It felt like it took forever to get out of here. But we made it on time to get her to mom and dad. You should have seen the look on my sons face when he seen her in the Packer outfit. It was funny his friends were laughing so hard. But he had his girlfriend change her right away. But you should have seen mommy when we got there she missed her baby so much. This was the longest she was away from her.
She was a really good baby the whole weekend. The only problem we had was getting her to sleep. Grandpa figured out an easy way to get her to fall asleep is put her in the stroller and just push her back and forth in it. But just leave her in there for about twenty minutes. We really enjoyed having her for the weekend. But I really didn't get to do a couple things I really wanted to with her. I wanted to take her to our zoo in town and take her and put her feet in Lake Michigan. It was like the weekend went so fast with her. I think last night Grandpa went into a Granddaughter withdraw. I was teasing him about that. We had a great time with her here for the weekend.Tender Heart Bearhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13066055559647242770noreply@blogger.com0
